The Black Peak Trek is known as the Kalanag Expedition. It's one of the best expeditions, and it's perhaps the most well-known.
Climbing this mountain is everyone’s dream. It’s is situated in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. This is connected Swargarohini peak and Bandarpoonch. The height of this peak is 6387 Meter
The expedition begins at Sankri Base Camp. The base camp for this trek is Ruinsara Tal and Kyarkoti. Because of the slope in front, the snow does not stop, it appears to be in the form of a snake. That's why it appears black when viewed from the front. This is why the peak is known as Kalanag.
The Black Peak Expedition is known as "Kala Nag" in the local dialect because the top part of the peak resembles a Black Cobra.
This is the highest point in the Saraswati Mountain Range, situated near Ruinsara Valley, at an elevation of 6,387 metres. Other peaks include Bandarpoonch (I) (6316 m) and Hanuman Parvat (Bandarpoonch II) (6,102 m).
Here together with Swargarohini and Bandarpoonch creates a beautiful mountain range. This expedition becomes more popular.

So, what could be better than spending a few days here in the peace and quiet? This adventure begins at base camp and takes you through Taluka, Osla, Devsu Bugyal, and Runsar Tal.
On the way of Devsu Bugyal you see beautiful flowers and different types flora and fauna, and different types animals like snow leopard, goat etc.
The Climb is Technical in Black Peak Expedition
The trail crosses glaciers and tree lines, with obstacles including a 75-foot ice wall and a 70-degree gradient to contend with. Since you must literally cross the summit, it is only favoured by experienced climbers and for adventurous outings.

Day2 – Trek from Sankri to taluka by taxi – 11 km same day trek to Cheludgad camp (12 km) (4/5 Hours) (2600 Meters)
Day3 – Trek from Cheludgad camp to Devsu Bugyal (07 km) (3/4 Hours) (2890 Meters)
Day4 – Trek from Devsu Bugyal to Ruinsara Tal (12 km) (5/6 Hours) (3500 Meters)
Day5 – Trek from Ruinsara Lake to Kyarkoti (Base Camp) (7 km) (5/6 hours) (3900 m)
Day6 – Rest Day for Acclimatization
Day7– Base Camp to Advance Base Camp and back (4600 m) (Load Ferry)

Note: – Many trekkers commit the same mistake of carrying unnecessary items on a trek which only makes the backpack heavy. It is important to know the right items to carry. It differs from season to season if you are trekking in summers then carry less layers of warm clothing and if you are trekking in winters carry enough layers to protect yourself against chilly cold.
Necessary Items for trekkers carry on a trek
Backpack (50 to 60 liters) A strongly built backpack with good support is compulsory for a trek. (Rain cover is important).
Sturdy Trekking Shoes The shoes should be strong enough with good support. The people ask if sports shoes would be comfortable but it is good to bring the right trekking shoes.
The Clothes You Should Bring On a Trek Avoid keeping extra clothes because it only makes you backpack heavy.
Trek Pants – The jeans are never suitable for a trek so you need at least 2-3 trek pants for treks carry more for longer treks.
Jacket – Jackets are very important to carry on a trek it protects you against the chilly weather. So carry 2 jackets on a week long trek.
Layers of warm Clothing Carry warm woolen layers or fleece. Carry more layers during winter season (at least 2 to 3) and less during summer.
